My first job was working as a charity tin shaker at intersections across Melbourne collecting donations for a charity. The cause raising money for underprivileged children. It was daunting going up to complete strangers at intersections asking for donations. I did this job over the school holidays . I wasn't allowed to have a job during the school year as my parents wanted me to focus on school so that I got into university. Education to my parents was important as they wanted my siblings and I to have better life than they did. I managed to work whilst I was at university I worked as a deli assistant at Queen Victoria Market. This involved 6am starts working until 2pm on tues , Thursday and Saturday and a 6am to 6 pm working day on Fridays. After work I would take the tram smelling like salami and cheese to attend my lectures and seminars at uni. I was
studying full time. I continued to work with this employer even after I completed my degree until I was able to secure a full time permanent position.
